No need to use the car as there are a number of attractions within walking distance including the award-winning Ilfracombe AquariumSt Nicholas Chapel perched on Lantern Hill which is the oldest lighthouse in the country, the unique Tunnels Beaches, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Bicclescombe Park or Hele Cornmill a 16th Century working watermill with tea garden.

If art is your thing then you’ve come to the right place, Ilfracombe has fast become an art destination to rival the likes of St Ives and boasts numerous art galleries and artisan craft studios, together with Damien Hirst’s Verity, a bronze statue standing 66 ft tall guarding the entrance to the pier.  Each year there is an Art Trail where you can visit around 70 artists in their own studios and galleries.
