Ilfracombe Fish Trail

Explore our Maritime Heritage

Eight interpretation boards form a trail starting at St Nicholas Chapel, round the Pier, along by The Aquarium, round the harbour ending up at the commercial fishing area by the Cove. Obviously you can go either way round it!

The idea is to inform and educate the public, both locals and visitors alike, about the maritime heritage of the area and the important part that fishing in particular has played in the development of the town.

There are two leaflets available, one explaining the boards more fully and a second more interactive one for children with quizzes and games – they find the answers by following the map and looking at the boards.
