Hele Corn Mill

16th century working watermill

Hele Cornmill is a 16th century water mill just outside Ilfracombe. Take a tour of the mill, visit the Bunny Barn to see our bunnies and lambs (March-April/May) and have a cream tea in our award winning tearoom. Featured on many circular walks and 1 hour via the coastal path from Ilfracombe, or 10 minutes by car, and just 300m from the stunning Hele Beach.

Access to the mill is free but at 4.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the miller takes guided tours of the mill – charges apply. Hear about the history of the mill, mill flour on the hand quern, complete the photo quizzes and challenges and see the National Diesel engine in operation. Advanced booking advised.

New for 2019 children can visit the Bunny Barn and ‘cuddle a bunny’ at set times during the day. We also expect to have lambs for bottle feeding (March to late April/May). Further details on our website and facebook.

Four times winner of Devon Life’s Best Tearoom award. Join us for a traditional Devonshire cream tea in the tearoom or teagarden or be tempted by the cakes, baked by the miller’s wife with stroneground flour from the mill.

We regret dogs not allowed in the mill.
