Unique 16th century water mill celebrating its 500th anniversary in 2025

Hele Cornmill is a unique 16th century water mill in North Devon and is celebrating its 500th anniversary in 2025.

Free entry to the mill where you can learn how we make the flour used in our selection of cakes! View the mill workings and learn about the history of the mill we’ve discovered over the last 14 years; its owners and workers of the past five centuries. An information film also shows in the Gallery.

We serve award winning cream teas and cakes made from flour ground in the mill, together with light lunches.

Children friendly, dog friendly and with wheelchair friendly paths.

The Millers are proud to offer two beautiful holiday cottages, available to rent throughout the year. Both cottages are suitable for up to four guests, and well-behaved dogs are welcome at the Miller’s Cottage.

The Miller’s Cottage is adjacent to the mill, next to the tranquil mill stream.

Tollgate Cottage is perfect for a family holiday, just a stone’s throw from Hele Bay beach.
