The Friends of Fore Street Association

Aiming to protect, conserve and enhance the area

The Friends of Fore Street Association is a voluntary unincorporated association

In its present form it has been active since December 2012

The aims of the FOFSA are:

  • To protect, conserve and enhance the Fore Street area as an attractive and welcoming environment for the Fore Street Community of residents, traders and visitors. This will be achieved through community participation to ensure the best possible outcomes for the area.
  • To support and facilitate activities which provide enjoyment, and increase public knowledge and interest in the environment, for all sections of the community.
  • To be a voice for the Fore Street community, by forging strong links with other organisations and agencies within the town, and to raise the profile of the area both locally and in a wider context.
  • To welcome all sections of the community as a network of individuals and organisations which are able to support our aims through either financial or practical help.

Our most noticeable achievement was the funding and installation of the decorative lights,  officially switched on in March 2015 and we are also responsible for the Fore Street Big Lunch celebrations which take place in June every year, dating back to 2012.

We always welcome suggestions, ideas and particularly offers of help!
