Ilfracombe Gig Rowing Regatta

See one of the highlights of Ilfracombe’s summer events calendar – the Ilfracombe Pilot Gig Club Regatta. Wander down to the harbour where you can watch the racing in action and cheer on all the rowers.

We race in boats which are precise replicas of those which were common on our coast 200  years ago.  Each is crafted carefully from Elm wood.

There will be a BBQ throughout the day and live posting of results.

Once the racing is over and all boats are in the trophy will be presented to the winning team.

Clubs took part from all parts of the South West including Dorset and Cornwall have taken part in our Regattas.  . The categories are:  Ladies B – Mens B – Ladies A – Mens A – Ladies Veterans – Mens Veterans –  Ladies Superveterans – Mens Supervets – Mixed & Junior.
