Ilfracombe Photography Festival

11 October 2026 @ 10:00 - 17:00

Ilfracombe, North Devon, is getting ready to welcome photographers, artists, visitors and local communities for the first Ilfracombe Photography Festival, taking place over the weekend of 10th–11th October 2026.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of North Devon’s coast, the festival will celebrate photography in all its forms, with a lively weekend of exhibitions, workshops, talks, community projects and creative events taking place across the town.

The festival is aimed at everyone, from experienced photographers looking for fresh inspiration, to those just starting out, mobile phone photographers keen to improve their everyday images, and anyone who simply enjoys seeing brilliant photography. Whether visitors arrive with a professional camera, a phone in their pocket, or just a love of great images, the weekend promises a welcoming and inspiring celebration of photography.

Ilfracombe has long been a draw for photographers, with its working harbour, dramatic cliffs, Victorian architecture, coastal light, creative independent businesses and vibrant arts community providing endless inspiration. The new festival will build on that creative energy, encouraging people to explore the town through fresh eyes and discover why Ilfracombe continues to attract image-makers, artists and curious visitors throughout the year.
