Lee & Lincombe

''Fuchsia Valley''

The picturesque villages of Lee and Lincombe, sits between Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, which are within walking distance along the stunning coastal paths. A sheltered, peaceful and charming refuge, they are within an area known as  ”Fuchsia Valley” – such is the abundance of these vivid flowers in this steeply wooded combe.

The quiet main road and occasional footpaths take you on a winding trip down the steep valley, past Pixie Meadow adjoining Lee Village Memorial Hall, St Matthew’s Church and the Old Schoolroom Craft Gallery. Past the recently renovated Old Maids Cottage, the road meanders and if you’re walking heads left down the footpath taking you past the local pub, The Grampus Inn, which is dog-friendly and is open throughout the year. Finally, the valley sides drop away and the dramatic jagged rocks of Lee Bay are revealed – a perfect spot for swimming and for children to go rock pooling, yet there’s sand and secret beaches too if you get the tides right.

There is a car park next to Lee Village Memorial and then it’s a short walk to the bay via a footpath.
