A haven for surfers

Croyde with a stretch of sandy beach, cliff-top walks and a handful of shops and pubs is known for being a haven for surfers where surf schools, surf-wear shops and hire outlets abound. The National Trust’s Baggy Point headland and surrounding area make for some excellent coastal walking with breath-taking views.

Every summer, Croyde Bay hosts the ever-popular Goldcoast Oceanfest offering a great weekend full of water sports, outdoor adventures music playing throughout the weekend.

Saunton, a few minutes’ drive from Braunton and home to the championship courses of Saunton Golf Club, is predominantly known for its beach, Saunton Sands, Backed by the bio-diverse Braunton Burrows, the beach is the perfect haven for sunbathers, surfers, walkers, metal detectorists and rock-poolers. Facilities at the beach include parking, toilets, a shop and a café
