Faces of Ilfracombe

27 September 2026 @ 10:00 - 17:00
Free

Come and be one of the Faces of Ilfracombe.

We’re creating a photographic snapshot of the people who live and work in Ilfracombe in 2026, and we’d love you to be part of it.

The aim is to capture the real mix of people who make up the town: familiar faces, local characters, business owners, volunteers, creatives and community figures, but also parents, grandparents, neighbours, pub regulars, people who work behind the scenes, people who’ve lived here for years and people who are newer to town.
In other words, the people who make Ilfracombe feel like Ilfracombe.

Local photographer Paul Martin of Two Names Photography will be taking individual portraits at Ilfracombe Table Tennis Club, Fore Street on:
Sunday 27 September, 10am–5pm
Saturday 3 October, 10am–5pm
There’s no need to book. Just drop in.

Come as you are, or bring something that says a little about your life in Ilfracombe. It could be workwear, sports kit, gardening gloves, a musical instrument, a tool of your trade, something linked to a hobby or organisation, or simply something that feels like “you”.

We want the finished collection to feel broad, honest and full of character, reflecting both the people who are well known in the town and those who are simply part of its everyday life.
Under 16s are welcome but should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The finished portraits will be displayed during the Ilfracombe Photography Festival on 10–11 October 2026, before becoming part of a lasting record of Ilfracombe in 2026.

Participants will also be able to access their photograph afterwards, with the option to download an image or order prints.

Faces of Ilfracombe is also linked to Ilfracombe’s bid to become UK Town of Culture 2028.

A town. Its people. One moment in time.
