DESCRIPTION:We’re delighted to be hosting this year’s festive dip at Ilfracombe Harbour — raising funds for our fabulous and vital RNLI Ilfracombe and we’d love for you to join us!\n\n\n\n Location: Slipway by the RNLI\n Time: 10:30am\n Dress code: Your finest Christmas sparkle\, hats\, tinsel and festive fun!\n Hot drinks kindly provided by the RNLI\n\n\n\nWe’ll be there overseeing safety on the day\, but please remember all swimmers enter the water at their own risk.\n Cold Water Safety – Please Read\n\n\nCold water is exhilarating\, but it comes with risks. SUMMARY:Ilfracombe Gig Rowing Regatta
DESCRIPTION:See one of the highlights of Ilfracombe’s summer events calendar – the Ilfracombe Pilot Gig Club Regatta. Wander down to the harbour where you can watch the racing in action and cheer on all the rowers. \n \nWe race in boats which are precise replicas of those which were common on our coast 200  years ago.  Each is crafted carefully from Elm wood. \n  \nThere will be a BBQ throughout the day and live posting of results. \nOnce the racing is over and all boats are in the trophy will be presented to the winning team. \nClubs took part from all parts of the South West including Dorset and Cornwall have taken part in our Regattas.  . The categories are:  Ladies B – Mens B – Ladies A – Mens A – Ladies Veterans – Mens Veterans –  Ladies Super veterans – Mens Supervets – Mixed & Junior.

SUMMARY:Round Lundy Rally
DESCRIPTION:Ilfracombe Yacht Club (IYC) have been running this popular race since 2005. Yachts from all around the Bristol channel take part\, from large racing yachts with crews as many as 9 to cruising yachts as small as 22ft and some single handed. In 2024 twenty four boats entered. \nThe race is held over one-day with the successful competitors covering approximately 45 miles. The race starts at 7.30am with a starting “gate” of two widely spaced buoys to the North of Lantern Hill\, with the ebb tide helping to make the long journey to Lundy rounding the island either clockwise or anti-clockwise depending on the wind direction. The tide turns when the smaller yachts are rounding the island and helps them with the return journey. \nThe faster yachts may finish as early as 3 or 4pm\, the smaller yachts seeking to get back and pass through the finishing “gate” before an 8pm deadline. Prizes and party await!
