DESCRIPTION:2025 will see 15 Morris sides coming to dance – as well as from Cornwall and the wider Devon they come from as far a field as California\, not to forget our local sides\, Ilfracombe Red Petticoats\, Borderline Morris from Barnstaple & Bideford Phoenix. \n On Sunday it kicks off at 11am and there will also be our classic & vintage vehicle show ‘Morris & Friends’ all along the seafront with the presentation of prizes at 3pm. The winning Morris in 2024 was a 1937 Morris 8\, Series 2 four door saloon.

DESCRIPTION:2025 will see 15 Morris sides coming to dance – as well as from Cornwall and the wider Devon they come from as far a field as California\, not to forget our local sides\, Ilfracombe Red Petticoats\, Borderline Morris from Barnstaple & Bideford Phoenix. \nOn both Saturday and Sunday there will be Morris dancing around the seafront and harbour areas all day as well as food and craft stalls on the Seafront. \nThe activity starts on Saturday at 10.30am with a parade of dancers and musicians from the Pier to the Seafront. \nThis event is free and is brought to you by Events 4 Ilfracombe. SUMMARY:Jack in the Green Celebration
DESCRIPTION:The annual Jack-in-the-Green event is all about releasing the ‘spirit of summer\, a green clad procession complete with giants\, Brigid\, seen in spring as the manifestation of growth and renewal\, are joined by her partner\, Bres\, and a new tree giant\, Thorne\, and drummers makes its way through the town to the seafront. \nMustering from 10.45am in Wilder Road Car Park they parade through the High Street\, Fore Street & St James Place ending at the Clapping Circle above Wildersmouth Beach. \nAt the Clapping Circle where they dance the May Pole children from the audience are invited to join in the dancing\, then ‘Jack’ will be stripped of his leafy coverings to welcome the Spirit of Summer. \nEveryone is welcome to join or watch the May Day parade – just turn up and if possible wear something green.
