The Abstract paintings are inspired by the calm reflections in the rock pools the land and seascapes and the natural elements that surround us.

I build up layers of colour in the acrylic paint to create the finished work. It is one of the ecstasies of painting – the independence of the hand from the brain. The brain tells the hand ‘Draw in that stone, or the water, but only use one brush load.’ One chance. What is achieved is an original work that comes from the soul.

I am usually working from the gallery in Ilfracombe so I am available to open the gallery for private viewings, please contact me to make arrangements.
