Ilfracombe Lions Club Swimarathon

Ilfracombe and District Lions Club have been raising money for local good causes and people in need for over 40 years. Lions run the Swimarathon at the Ilfracombe Pool & Fitness Centre each year. At the 2022 Swimarathon over 20 teams took part from 9 different organisations. Particular mention must be made of Ilfracombe Junior School and Ilfracombe Swimming Club both organised by John Williamson from the Junior School.

They are more than happy with the sponsorship pledged totalling £4820 . Everyone had a great time and there were some incredible team performances!

Each team of six swims in lane for 55 minutes and raises money through sponsorship for the number of lengths completed. They are more than happy with the sponsorship pledged totalling £4820 . Everyone had a great time and there were some incredible team performances!

The Lions collect all the money from the event – half is then returned to the team and the other half is redistributed by the Lions to local good causes.
