Ilfracombe and the surrounding North Devon is a fantastic place to be whatever the time of year and even in February there is plenty to see and do.

Valentine’s wouldn’t be Valentine’s without chocolate, so a visit to Ilfracombe Chocolate Emporium while you’re in town is an absolute must.

The High Street chocolatier stocks a wide range of handcrafted chocolate to die for, all made on the premises and with something to suit all tastes.

What is more, visitors can often watch the chocolate being made in store or sign up to a variety of chocolate making workshops to learn about the process and how to make their own.

The Emporium also features a Chocolate Museum – free to visit and learn more about the art of making the food of the gods, as well as to find out how chocolate is created and often you will be able to watch chocolatiers at work through the kitchen view window.

Stunning coastal walks

Wrap up warmly and experience the changing moods of the North Devon coastline with a variety of longer and shorter walks in and around Ilfracombe.

Stroll hand in hand to visit hidden coves and secret beaches or simply sit atop the lofty Torrs or Hillsborough – two of the headland nature reserves surrounding the town – and enjoy the sunset. Or sunrise, if you prefer!
