May sees the traditional May Day/Jack in the Green parade and June we celebrate Ilfracombe's Victorian heritage with the week long Victorian Celebration. All Things Morris in July celebrates all things...Morris! A whole weekend of exhibitions, Morris dancing, Morris vehicles and also incorporating The North Devon Street Food Awards and the Fore Street craft fair.
August is a very busy month starting with The South West Birdman and including Rescue Day (the South West's largest emergency services display), Ilfracombe Carnival and Mini Madness over the bank holiday weekend.
Sea Ilfracombe in September celebrates Ilfracombe's maritime past with music and food and is followed closely by The Ilfracombe Bike Show.
Arts fans will enjoy the Ilfracombe Art Trail with the opportunity to visit local artists in their studios in May, whilst film fans will love the Ilfracombe Film Festival in October.
This is just a small selection of what is on offer. Ilfracombe also has sports events such as running, swimming and the triathlon, community events such as The Big Lunch and a number of seasonal winter and Christmas events. As a bonus the seaside location means that Ilfracombe also hosts gig racing including an annual regatta and yacht racing including the well-known Lundy Yacht race.
