This exciting award winning, all weather, fun, educational attraction provides a fascinating insight into the watery world of North Devon… The aquarium houses a diverse collection of local aquatic life in beautifully recreated natural habitats.
The exhibits provide visitors with a unique zoned journey experience starting from the SOURCE of an Exmoor stream, down RIVER to the ESTUARY, local ROCKPOOL, Ilfracombe HARBOUR, COAST and to LUNDY with its marine reserve.

Complimentary children’s’ quizzes following fun trails are offered on entry.
Friendly, caring staff are on hand too to help.

The aquarium also offers the Funky Fish Gift Shop where a great range of good value, unusual aquatic themed gifts can be purchased. The Pier Café provides a wide variety of delicious, sensibly priced, quality products available to enjoy in a relaxing harbourside environment.

Road Directions

Follow signs to Ilfracombe and then pick up the brown tourist signs to the seafront, you need to keep the sea on your left and drive towards St Philip and St James Church. With the church on your right you be travelling down St James’ Place. Turn left at the end T-junction and then first right. The harbour will be on your right and the aquarium is at the end on the left.

Public Transport Directions

By Bus: Throughout the year; buses number 3, 30 from Barnstaple, number 31 from Woolacombe of number 35 from Lee. During the summer additional services; number 32 from Woolacombe or 300 from Minehead via Lynton.

By Train: Throughout the year from Exeter to Barnstaple

By Coach: Many national towns/cities to Ilfracombe
