  • About:

The Ilfracombe Gallery was the first of the Driftwood Contemporary family, established in 2001 on the Quayside. The gallery was relocated in August 2013 to the new prominent and larger premises on St. James Place, just a short stroll from our former location.

Our range of artists, both nationally and internationally renowned, is quite exceptional with a wonderful selection of different styles. We really do offer something for everyone! As the days are getting darker and colder, why not brighten up your life with a visit to the gallery?

COMBE CHRISTMAS – Enjoy the wonderful selection we have here over a glass of bubbles and a mince pie! We welcome everyone over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of November.

CONTEMPORARY GLASS EXHIBITION - In the lead up to Christmas we are showcasing hand blown glass, by one of the country's leading makers, Peter Layton of London Glassblowing.

"Such is Peter Layton's contribution to glass art that it is difficult to know where to start; how to condense more than half a century of boundary-pushing, skill, bravery and expertise into a few words.

True to say his impact is noted by both critic and layman alike for he has been at the forefront of British studio glass since the 1970s and has contributed more than most to its promotion and burgeoning success"

Driftwood offers an incredible and diverse array of contemporary artwork, with new artists, pieces and collections arriving weekly. Also Bronze Sculpture and Glass.

  • Opening times & hours:

Driftwood Gallery is going to remain open every day throughout the low season, with normal hours 10 till 5pm (10 till 4pm on Sundays).
