  • About:

Leading contemporary seascape artist Rebecca Lardner will be making a rare personal appearance at Driftwood Gallery Ilfracombe. On Sunday 29th April from 2 – 4pm. Rebecca will be in the gallery celebrating the launch of a superb collection of her uplifting original paintings, limited edition prints and sculpture. All welcome.

Over the last few years, Rebecca has become a major figure in the contemporary art world. Since she won a major award - UK New Artist of the Year - her whimsical paintings have been featured widely in the media, and demand for her work has turned her into one of the UK's most highly sought-after and collectable artists.

Rebecca's genius lies in her ability to create engaging and animated harbour scenes that encapsulate everything that is most charming about British coastal life. The lively impression of ceaseless everyday activity has led art critics to acclaim her as 'the modern day Lowry'.

Her much anticipated collection for Spring 2018 does not disappoint. Focusing on life in the coast, she has given us a series of stunning new Original Seaside artworks, limited editions and sculpture, all created with that irresistible combination of quirky humour and technical panache which has made her work so collectable.

This event represents an opportunity to come and meet one of the UK's most celebrated talents, and Rebecca is happy to pose for photographs or personalise your artwork.

Gallery manager Annette said: "Rebecca is a genuine star of the art world, but is also a highly approachable individual and a great friend of Driftwood Galleries. She is a lovely guest and we shall enjoy introducing her to collectors over a glass of wine. I hope our friends in the area will all be coming along to meet her and to enjoy this unique occasion."

The Ilfracombe Gallery was the first of the Driftwood Contemporary family, established in 2001 on the Quayside. The gallery was relocated in August 2013 to the new prominent and larger premises on St. James Place, just a short stroll from our former location.

Our range of artists, both nationally and internationally renowned, is quite exceptional with a wonderful selection of different styles. We really do offer something for everyone!
